The Present

The present and the future of the faculty is constituted by the Long-term Plan of the Educational, Scientific, Research, Development and Artistic Activities of the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology Mendel University in Brno for 2006--2010.

Our Objectives in the Areas of Science, Research and Creative Activities

• Full participation in the international research within the FP7.
• Participation in other technology platforms.
• Development of the wood-based materials technology centre - Josef Ressel Research Centre.
• Co-operation with companies and establishment of joint ventures using technologies developed at FFWT MUAF in Brno.
• Closer co-operation with other universities, particularly abroad.
• Formation of collective research teams with partner institutions, especially with the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic.
• Support of teams involved in grant competitions and international research.
• Higher-quality publication activities, with regard to publications' impact scores, patents, utility models and methods in accordance with the Czech research policy.
