Scientific, research and creative activities at the Faculty of Forestry and Wood
Technology focus on the following:
• forest conditions and forest environment assessment, prognosis development,
and modelling of growth processes,
• application of advanced decision analysis methods in forestry planning,
• development of biotechnologies,
• application of molecular biology in forestry,
• improving resistance of forests to potential climate change,
• research on new technological methods in forest management,
• new possibilities for forestry and wood processing in the socio-economic
development of Czech society,
• effective approaches to landscape cultivation,
• management of natural resources in the tropics and subtropics,
• new technologies and the development of materials engineering--development of
new wood-based materials,
• design of wooden structures and their components,
• health hazards, ergonomics and interior ecology,
• design, technical and utility characteristics of products.
